Go West 2026: November 9-14
Thank you to the posse of fans who attended, volunteered, donated, hooted, and hollered at the 11th annual festival. Go West 2026 brings six days of classic westerns, contemporary perspectives on the West, filmmaker conversations, and the audience-judged Shorts Showcase - all free, at the Kress Cinema & Lounge and the LINC Library Innovation Center.
Short Film Submissions Are Open
Filmmakers: the 2026 Shorts Showcase is accepting entries through FilmFreeway. Traditional westerns, documentaries, and sub-genre work are all welcome. See our submission guidelines for selection criteria.
New Writing: Essays & Reviews
Our Essays & Reviews section publishes long-form writing on western cinema from festival board members and invited contributors - most recently David Caldwell on Duel in the Sun (1946) and Howard Hawks’s The Big Sky (1952). New essays publish throughout the year.
2025 Festival Poster Still Available
Frameable 18x26-inch prints of Cody Kuehl’s Outrun the End of the World - the 2025 festival poster - are available for a donation of $50 or more. All proceeds benefit the festival.
